Monday Morning News: Olympics Week

The summer Olympics have started in London, and in that spirit we’re going to have a sporting theme this week on the blog.

Did You Know: lacrosse, cricket, croquet, polo and tug-of-war are a few of the sports that were once part of the summer Olympics?

We would like to wish all Olympians good luck in the coming weeks, but especially those that are representing markets where there are Popular Community Bank branches. For a list of athletes from those areas, click on the region:

New York/New Jersey

Here are a few events on the Popular Community Bank calendar for the coming week:

Tonight (July 30), we are hosting a small business seminar at our Garden Grove (CA) branch from 6-8 pm PT. If you have questions about accounting, commercial loans, cash management products or other business banking products, this is a great free forum to get some answers. There is more information about this event on our Facebook events page.

On Thursday, small business owners can get answers to any and all of their questions at a seminar hosted at our Fullerton (CA) branch. Make sure to plan your lunch around this great event!

On Friday, we’ll be distributing bottles of water and will have a table available to answer questions at the 19th Annual All Kids and Family Health Fair in Chicago.

From noon on Friday through noon on Saturday, a group of branch employees from our Commerce branch will be participating in the Relay for Life, which will be raising funds through sponsorships of friends and family for the American Cancer Society. We’ll have more about this great event on Wednesday.
