Monday Morning News: Football Week!

Happy Labor Day! Hopefully you’re enjoying the holiday weekend.

Perhaps helping you enjoy this weekend was the return of football. All over the country, colleges and universities put their teams on the field for the first time this weekend, and the professionals will get their season started in a few days.

Last August, The Hollywood Reporter reported that over 27 million fans participate in a fantasy football league each year, and that fantasy football has become a $1 billion business. Are you one of the 27 million that have at least one fantasy team? If so, leave your best team name in our comments section!

Football fans should also remember to follow us on Twitter. Last week, five lucky people from all over the country won jerseys of their favorite team. All you have to do to win this week is tell us why you love your favorite team with #pcbjersey in the tweet.

There are a lot of exciting events coming up at Popular Community Bank this week! Here are a few to put on your calendar.

Tomorrow, Sept. 4, small business owners can attend a free seminar at our branch on Dyckman in New York City to get answers from a Paychex representative. If you’re trying to figure out payroll, benefits and/or compliance, this is a great opportunity.

On Wednesday there are two events for folks in the New York area. From 10-2, our Astoria branch will be answering your basic banking questions. Then from 5-7 PM, out branch on West 96th Street is hosting a seminar discussing identity theft prevention. Both of these are free events.

Friday afternoon, from 1-3, our branch on East 116th Street in New York City is hosting a free wealth management seminar.

A fantastic way to keep up to date with all of our community events and free seminars is by liking us on Facebook, where we have an Events tab listing opportunities in all of our markets.
