Beginning today, Sept. 10, Popular Community Bank is excited to begin our annual Make A Difference Day Challenge!
Make A Difference Day was created by USA WEEKEND Magazine more than 20 years ago as a “national day of doing good.”
Popular Community Bank began a company-wide commitment to the event 11 years ago and has donated thousands of dollars and service hours to organizations in our communities.
This year, we’re once again hosting the Make A Difference Day Challenge on our Facebook page. If you volunteer, or believe deeply in an organization, you can nominate them to win $1,000 from us! The contest runs from today until Oct. 19. We’ll notify winners of the contest on Friday, Oct. 26, the day before Make A Difference Day. In 2012, we are raising the bar and will award six (6) $1,000 prizes to organizations nominated by you!
Throughout the next five weeks, we are going to highlight great activities and organizations that employees of Popular Community Bank have invested in, both financially and physically.
Here are a few events you can attend with us this week:
Our branch on Broadway in New York City is celebrating Customer Appreciation Day today! Stop by for coffee and doughnuts (while they last) and get answers to all of your banking questions.
Our branch on Nicholas in New York City is hosting a retirement planning seminar this afternoon from 1-2 PM EDT.
If you’re a football fan in Chicago, we’re partnering with WDRV 97.1 FM The Drive radio in Chicago every Monday night for an excellent football viewing party at two Buffalo Wild Wings locations – Mt. Prospect and Skokie. The first event is tonight!
On Wednesday, our branch on West 181st Street is hosting Investment and Insurance Day from 10 AM to 3 PM EDT.
Anyone interested in starting a business should attend our seminar in Astoria (NY) on Thursday. The event is free, and is scheduled from 6-7:30 PM EDT.
We have three events scheduled for folks in New York on Friday:
- our branch on Nicholas is hosting Payroll Services Day from 10 AM to 3 PM EDT.
- our branch on Third Avenue in the Bronx is hosting a Will and Estate Planning seminar from noon to 4 PM EDT, and
- our branch on East 116th Street is hosting an Estate Planning Seminar from 1-3 PM EDT.
Also, while supplies last, we’re giving away tickets to all Florida International University home football games! Folks in south Florida can stop by any branch and ask a manager for details and availability.
