MoneySmart Week Events Provide Financial Education

On Monday, the first day of MoneySmart Week 2013, Popular Community Bank hosted events for individuals in our communities.

CarolAnn Chiodo, Branch Manager in Westmont (IL), discussed identity theft with 25 seniors at a local park district office. Chiodo examined some ways to protect your personal information, and identified some common scenarios in which an identity can be stolen.

Popular Community Bank also hosted a Managing Your Money workshop and an Identity Theft Workshop in Spanish on Monday in our communities.

The bank is also presenting opportunities for financial education to employees at our offices outside Chicago all week. On Monday, 40 employees discussed retirement and savings strategies and identity theft as well.

We have free financial education opportunities all over the Chicagoland area throughout this week. Be sure to check out our schedule for MoneySmart Week 2013 for times and dates.
